Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dear Steve Bakehouse LLC(“Dear Steve,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you visit dearstevebakehouse.com (the “Site”) or place an order. We keep this short, because we collect very little — and we never see your payment card details.
Information we collect
When you place an order or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and — for delivery orders — your delivery address.
We do not collect or store your payment card information. All payments are handled directly and securely by Square on its own checkout pages.
We also collect limited, anonymized usage data automatically through privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (see Cookies & analyticsbelow) — things like which pages were viewed and how fast they loaded. This data contains no personal identifiers and isn’t used to track you across other sites.
How we use your information
We use the information you give us to:
- Bake and fulfill your order;
- Schedule your pickup or delivery and coordinate it with you;
- Send order-related (transactional) emails, like confirmations;
- Respond to your questions; and
- Keep records we need for taxes and our cottage food operation.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We rely on a few trusted service providers to run the Site and fulfill orders:
- Square— processes all payments, card data, receipts, and sales tax, and stores your order record. Square’s privacy notice.
- Resend— delivers our transactional emails; receives your name and email to send them. Resend’s privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosts the Site and provides cookieless analytics. Vercel’s analytics privacy.
- Google Calendar— used internally to schedule your order; order details may be added to a private calendar we use to plan baking and fulfillment. Google’s privacy policy.
Cookies & analytics
The Site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless and collect only anonymized, aggregated data. We don’t set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so you won’t see a cookie banner here. When you continue to checkout, you’re on Square’s pages, which may set their own cookies under Square’s policy.
Data retention
We keep your order and contact information only as long as we need it to fulfill orders and to meet tax and recordkeeping obligations. Square retains its own order and payment records according to its policies.
Security
Your payment card details never touch our systems — they go directly to Square, which is PCI-compliant. For the limited information we do hold, we take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — just email sourdough@dearstevebakehouse.com. You can also opt out of any non-order emails at any time.
Children’s privacy
The Site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
