Terms of Service
Last updated: June 26, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of dearstevebakehouse.com (the “Site”) and any order you place with Dear Steve Bakehouse LLC(“Dear Steve,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
Who we are
Dear Steve Bakehouse is a Michigan cottage food operation in Royal Oak, baking small-batch, naturally fermented sourdough.
Ordering & availability
Everything is made in small batches and baked to order. Availability, lead times, and how far ahead you can book are shown at checkout. Because we’re a small operation, we may limit quantities or decline or cancel an order — for example, if an item sells out or we can’t fulfill your request. If we cancel an order you’ve paid for, we’ll refund it.
Pricing & payment
Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change. Payment is processed by Square on its secure hosted checkout; by placing an order you also agree to Square’s terms. Any applicable sales tax is calculated and collected by Square. We never receive or store your card number.
Pickup & delivery
Orders are available for free local pickup in Royal Oak (we share the exact pickup address after you order) or for flat-fee local delivery to nearby Michigan cities. We deliver within Michigan only. Deliveries arrive within the window shown at checkout. Please provide an accurate address and be reachable around your scheduled time — if a pickup or delivery is missed, we’ll try to reach you, but perishable items may not be remade or refunded.
Cancellations & refunds
Our products are made to order and perishable. If you need to change or cancel an order, please let us know as early as possible — ideally at least 48 hours before your scheduled pickup or delivery — so we can adjust before baking begins. Refunds, when issued, are processed through Square. We may not be able to refund items that have already been baked.
Food, allergens & cottage food disclosure
Our food is made in a home kitchen. Products may contain or come into contact with common allergens, including wheat, eggs, milk, soy, and tree nuts. If you have a food allergy, please order with that in mind.
Made in a home kitchen that has not been inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development.
Intellectual property
The Site’s content — including our name, branding, logo, photography, and copy — belongs to Dear Steve Bakehouse LLC. Please don’t reuse it without our permission.
Disclaimers
The Site and our products are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind except those that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Oakland County, Michigan.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version, and continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms.
